jessica johnston

writer / director / videographer

I started making films with my brother as a child. He was the writer, director, and lead actor, of course. My job was to be there for whatever he needed, and he never failed to make me laugh.

Knowing that my career needed to be surrounded by art, I studied in almost every field searching for the perfect fit, and it stopped with film. It truly is a medium that incorporates every art form, and it pushes me to keep learning and growing.  Because of that I’ve discovered the beauty and endless creativity of Production Design, my new found love. And most importantly, I have found my voice.

Music and dance has also been a big part of my life, and making films, to me, is like dancing; gracefully moving to the beat of a song, evoking every emotion, becoming lost in the action, but staying in complete control.

Watching a well-crafted story unfold has been one of the great inspirations in my life, and able to be apart of that magic not only fills me with great joy, it also makes me thankful for all that I have.
